On Saturday, January 18th, Bernie, Yankees #1 closer, Mariano Rivera, and popstar, Carly Rose Sonenclar of Fox’s the X Factor fame, hosted the Annual Hillside Food Outreach Gala in Danbury, Connecticut. The event was an amazing night helping to raise funds to feed hungry families. Bernie sends his love and gratitude to everyone who made this important event such a huge success. Bernie and Bedford police chief, William Hayes were recently honored at the 17th Annual WHLEA (Westchester Hispanic Law Enforcement Association) Gala Dinner at the Surf Club in New Rochelle, NY. The New YorkYankees today announced additional details regarding the 67thannual Old-Timers’ Day on Sunday, June 23, atYankee Stadium. Ceremonies are scheduled to begin at 11:15 a.m. with the traditional Old-Timers’ game to follow, both of which will be aired exclusively on the YES Network. The Yankees will then host the Tampa Bay Rays at 2:05 p.m., also airing on YES.
General public gates opening to ticket-holding guests at 10:00 a.m.
Exclusively, for this year’s Old-Timers’ Day, all Yankees alumni will wear a specially designed New Era hat, complete with an Old-Timers’ Day patch on the side of the cap, as well as a #OldTimersDay patch on the back of the hat. Additionally, the @Yankees Twitter account will be active throughout Old-Timers’ batting practice and the Old-Timers’ Day game, with Yankees alumni tweeting and answering questions from fans during the Old-Timers’ Day festivities.
ABC 7 Eyewitness News captured the moment as Bernie visited with a Sandy victim from Bergen county, New Jersey who lost all of his baseball equipment in the hurricane. Watch as Bernie surprises the young athlete.
Even though Hurricane Sandy hit four months ago, many people are still suffering from the effects of this horrible storm. Bernie will be joining the Steve Kimock Band tonight at Stage 48 in New York City from 7pm – 10pm. The Steve Kimock Band features Bernie Worrell on keyboards, Andy Hess on bass, Wally Ingram on drums and percussion and Johnny Morgan on drums.
